Jayson Tatum recently celebrated a championship victory with the Boston Celtics and has been chosen for the elite Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. During the Team USA practice camp in Las Vegas, Tatum met Kiyan Anthony, son of Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony, who joined the camp with his father. Kiyan, a promising college prospect, aspires to follow in his dad’s NBA footsteps.
During their meeting, Kiyan asked Tatum if he could beat his father in a prime 1v1 matchup. Tatum confidently responded that he could defeat prime Melo, even predicting a score of 11-8 in his favor.
Tatum had an impressive last season, averaging 26.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, excelling in both offense and defense. In contrast, prime Carmelo Anthony was a dominant scorer, averaging 28.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in his best year, during which he won the scoring title. Tatum finished 6th in the MVP race last season, while Melo ranked 3rd in his prime season.
