Steelers Rookies Who Might Ride the Bench All Season

As 90 players on the Steelers roster gear up for training camp, many face an uncertain future.

Some will strive to make the 53-man roster, while others may not make the cut. There’s ample opportunity for players to improve and carve out a role on the team, but they’ll need to find ways to positively stand out in their respective competitions. This will be a challenging, physically demanding camp.

Rookies must not only adjust to the NFL but are also often expected to contribute immediately. The Steelers had another strong draft class, yet some of the new rookies might struggle to get playing time this season. The odds are against them securing snaps, even if they make the team.

These Pittsburgh rookies will need to put in extra effort to earn a spot on the squad:

Mason McCormick
– Logan Lee
– John Rhys Plumlee
– Ryan Watts
