Ohio State Star Announces Major Career Decision After National Championship

The Ohio State Buckeyes have capped off a remarkable season, finishing with a 14-2 record and capturing the national championship. After defeating Notre Dame 34-23 in the title game, Ohio State completed an impressive College Football Playoff run, knocking off Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas. As the season concludes, a number of key players have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, with offensive lineman Seth McLaughlin being the latest to announce his decision.

Seth McLaughlin, who transferred to Ohio State from Alabama after four seasons with the Crimson Tide, made an immediate impact on the Buckeyes’ offensive line in his first year. Despite a promising start, his season was cut short due to an Achilles injury suffered in November. Before the injury, McLaughlin had impressed many, earning recognition as one of the top offensive line prospects in the transfer portal. By the time he went down, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. had rated him as the eighth-best center prospect for the upcoming draft.

As McLaughlin continues his rehabilitation, he is gearing up for the next step in his career. In his announcement, McLaughlin expressed gratitude for his time at Ohio State, thanking the Buckeyes for the opportunity to be part of their championship-winning season. “I’m so grateful to be a small part of the story that this team wrote this year,” McLaughlin shared. “I will forever be grateful for Buckeye Nation for accepting me as one of their own.”

McLaughlin’s decision marks another key step for the Buckeyes as they prepare to see several standout players move on to the professional ranks after a memorable season.
