On3 Sports has predicted that former Kansas and TCU center Ernest Udeh Jr. will transfer to the University of Miami this spring. With an impressive track record, On3’s expert predictions have earned a reputation for their accuracy, boasting an impressive 97.98% success rate through 198 picks for the 2025 season.
Standing at 6’11” with a 7’2” wingspan and weighing in at 260 pounds, Udeh Jr. is a formidable presence on the court. If On3’s prediction holds true, he is expected to step into the starting center role at Miami, taking over from Lynn Kidd, who recently wrapped up his college career with the Hurricanes.
Udeh Jr.’s potential arrival at Miami comes at a pivotal time for the program, which is in the process of rebuilding under new head coach Jai Lucas. This comes in the wake of the unexpected retirement of longtime head coach Jim Larrañaga, a move that initially left the future of the Miami basketball program uncertain.
Udeh Jr. began his college career at Kansas, where he averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds as a freshman. However, after his first season, he decided to transfer to TCU, where he made significant strides in his development. At TCU, he became a more well-rounded player, improving both offensively and defensively.
The improvement was noticeable, especially in the 2023-2024 season, when Udeh Jr. became a more potent offensive player, an improved rebounder, and a defensive powerhouse. He averaged over 2.5 stocks (a combination of steals and blocks) per game last season, a dramatic improvement from his first year at TCU.
If Udeh Jr. does join Miami, he would help solidify their frontcourt, which has already added former Indiana Hoosier Malik Reneau, a highly touted 6’8” power forward from Montverde Academy. With these key additions, the Hurricanes could be on the verge of a quick turnaround after the loss of Larrañaga. Udeh Jr.’s potential signing would be a major step toward rejuvenating the program and making Miami a contender once again in college basketball.
