The Arizona Cardinals have announced the signing of four players to future/reserve contracts: defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow, offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth, running back Zonovan Knight, and defensive lineman P.J. Mustipher.
Goodlow and Mustipher will remain in Arizona, while Haynesworth and Knight are new additions to the team.
Details from the Cardinals’ press release shed light on these players:
Haynesworth (6-1, 300) entered the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints after completing his college career at Tulane. He spent his rookie year on the practice squads of both the Saints and the New England Patriots. Haynesworth was a key player at Tulane, serving as the starting center for five years and earning the American Athletic Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2023.
Knight (5-11, 210) spent the 2024 season on the New York Jets’ practice squad after a stint in the offseason with the Detroit Lions. Originally undrafted out of N.C. State, he joined the Jets in 2022. As a rookie, Knight played in seven games, starting four of them. He tallied 85 carries for 300 yards and one touchdown, along with 13 receptions for 100 yards. In 2023, Knight appeared in two games with the Lions and spent additional time on their practice squad.
Additionally, the Cardinals had previously signed a group of players to future contracts, including wide receivers Andre Baccellia and Tejhaun Palmer, cornerbacks Jaden Davis and Darren Hall, offensive lineman Matthew Jones, tight end Bernhard Seikovits, and defensive lineman Ben Stille. All of these players finished the 2024 season on the team’s practice squad.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon discussed the constant changes during the offseason, acknowledging that the roster will undergo significant transformations. He expressed gratitude toward the players, emphasizing the sacrifices they made for the team’s success, even if many of them will not remain on the roster moving forward. Gannon recognized the inevitability of change and the importance of each player’s contribution.
