NFL Super Bowl Champion Arrested on Felony Warrant in Florida

NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Florida on Wednesday on a felony warrant for failing to report a change of address as a registered sex offender, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department.

Taylor, 65, turned himself in to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale and was released on bail on Thursday, according to The Athletic.

The former New York Giants star linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion faced similar charges in December 2021.

“Like the previous incident involving these allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit any criminal offense,” said Taylor’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh. “This situation is a significant misunderstanding. We are confident that, once prosecutors review the exculpatory evidence showing Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will achieve a favorable outcome again.”
