There isn’t much love lost between Dan Graziano and Aaron Rodgers.
Though the New York Jets quarterback has downplayed his issues with the media, including on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast, some, like Graziano, remain skeptical. This is unsurprising, as the ESPN NFL reporter has previously labeled Rodgers a “liar” and a “narcissistic con artist.”
If you follow Graziano on social media or watch him on ESPN, you likely know his stance on Rodgers. Even if Rodgers achieved the improbable and led the Jets to their first Super Bowl since the moon landing, Graziano’s opinion of him as a person would probably remain unchanged.
However, if the Jets miss the playoffs, continuing the longest active playoff drought in North American professional sports, Graziano believes Rodgers would reignite his blame on the media.
“What’s comforting,” Graziano asked, “is if they don’t make the playoffs, he can just say, ‘Well, the media said we didn’t make the playoffs. We actually did. They can say whatever they want, but we won the Super Bowl.’ Can we stop listening to what he says and actually watch him play?”
Graziano’s frustration stems from other comments Rodgers made on PMT, where Rodgers mentioned the media could create a story about his absence from the team’s minicamp, although it was only two days of OTAs.
